2025 EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
This highlight reel features moments from last year’s 4th Annual Legacy Siva Afi competition. Join us this year for the 5th Annual Legacy The Siva Afi on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Sea Life Park Hawaiʻi.
The Legacy Siva Afi Competition is an annual celebration of the art, discipline, and heritage of Samoan fire knife dancing. Hosted by Malu Productions and the Letuli Aiga, this event honors Chief Freddie Olo Misilagi Letuli, creator of the modern Siva Afi, and the pioneers of his generation who helped bring this powerful cultural art to the world stage.
Chief Freddie Olo Misilagi Letuli is recognized for transforming the traditional Samoan nifo oti into the flaming fire knife performance known today as Siva Afi. His innovation and dedication helped shape what has become one of the most recognized and respected Polynesian performance traditions.
Now in its 5th annual year, the Legacy competition provides a respected stage for fire knife dancers to demonstrate skill, control, creativity, choreography, and stage presence. Competitors represent their aiga, communities, and cultural roots while continuing to push the art of Siva Afi forward.
Legacy is more than a competition. It is a gathering that honors the history, discipline, and cultural responsibility carried by every fire knife dancer. It pays tribute to Chief Freddie Olo Misilagi Letuli and the performers of his time who laid the foundation for the global Siva Afi community.
Through this event, Legacy continues to celebrate that foundation while inspiring the next generation to uphold the pride, excellence, and cultural respect that define Siva Afi.
Legacy The Siva Afi brings together the strongest and most skilled fire knife performers from around the world.
